Abstract
Vijay Tendulkar is undoubtedly a great Indian playwright. He is famous for his artistic genius. Even though he has written in Marathi but the versions of his plays in English have fascinated the audience. He is particularly devoted to the deep-rooted problems of the Indian socio-cultural philosophy. This play discovers the illicit relationship between Miss Benare and Prof. Damle. Through this play he tries to depict the women of the middle class family in India. This play unveils how women are offended and suppressed in our society. This paper attempts to discuss the defeat of women.
